Boxing set to be included at LA 2028 Olympics | Who will be elected IOC president?

Current IOC president Thomas Bach has said this morning that the IOC’s Executive Board had recommended that Boxing be part of the sporting programme for the LA2028 Olympics.
While not officially binding – the IOC’s Exec Board recommendation has to be voted on by the IOC Session (all members) this week – It’s seen as a formality. Bach said: “After the provisional recognition of World Boxing in February we were in the position to take this decision.
“I’m very confident the (IOC) Session will approve it, so that all boxers of the world then have certainty that they can participate in the Olympic Games in LA2028 if their national federation is recognised by World Boxing.”
Sebastian Coe is in the running to be elected as president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Thursday.
Coe has the support of the likes of Sir Mo Farah and Usain Bolt and he will have to work with US president Donald Trump to deliver the 2028 LA Games if elected.
